The Oro Valley Festival of the Arts
Every year, the town of Oro Valley is home to the vaunted Oro Valley Festival of the Arts. The festival kicks off in November and runs for an entire weekend. This is one of the best ways to ring in the holiday season – with thousands of people gathered in the spirit of the season. There will be art everywhere, as well as a visit with Santa Claus. The event is free and covers an incredible 115 acres at the corner of Oracle and Tangerine in the city.
The Tour of Tucson Bike Race
El Tour de Tucson is an annual bicycling event that is held in nearby Tucson, Arizona. This is actually one of the largest events of its kind in the entire nation. It began in 1983, and has grown to almost 10,000 entrants. The ride takes place in November, so would-be entrants should not be concerned about hot weather, either.
The bike tour offers a scenic ride that starts off at the Tucson Convention Center (and ends there, as well). From this point, riders will pass some of the most impressive scenery the area has to offer, including the Tucson Mountains and the Santa Catalina Mountains.
