All About Oro Valley

If you will be visiting the area of Oro Valley, AZ, then you will certainly need some information before you head out. For those traveling to the area with relocation in mind, some specific information about the community in general can help you gain a better perspective of your soon-to-be home. What does Oro Valley, Arizona have to offer you?

The area was first incorporated in 1974, but the town was founded in 1881. The main Oro Valley jobs lie with the government sector. However, a number of people also find work in the transportation industry, with Oro Valley utility companies and with the education sector. Manufacturing is also a strong point for the area with companies like Honeywell and Securaplane in the town.

If you will be visiting for a vacation, then you will find a number of Oro Valley hotels on offer. The Sheraton El Conquistador is the area’s famed four-diamond resort, though there are many other hotels and motels from which to choose. You will also find a wide range of Oro Valley restaurants in which to dine. In fact, you will find a considerable mixture of both national chains and local favorites, catering to any taste or culinary pleasure that you might have.

Oro Valley, AZ is also home to a number of scenic areas, ideal for relaxation and enjoyment. You can visit Catalina State Park, to the east of town. You can also visit Mount Lemmon, the most southerly ski area in the US. Picacho Peak State Park, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Old Tucson Studios and the Saguaro National Monuments East and West are also huge draws for the area. Finally, Biosphere 2 is also located conveniently near the town for visitors who want to enjoy experiencing a model of earth’s ecosystem.
